fastest four stroke on the market?
#72
I ran the 450 and 525 against a field of bikes, including 525s 450r a 505 and a couple of 300 2strokes. This 4wheeler feels as light as a bike, and handle like a dream. In the air it stays straight, so drifting, and it lands so smooth, it hard to tell when to gas it. It took KTM a long time to let it out because they wanted to make sure it was right. It is the Ferrari of atvs

Got my money on KTM on sweeping the atv world with that 525xc & don't forget about KTM coming out with 23 models for 2008 in Dirtbikes...... Fact that KTM has the fastest 250 2-stroke, 450 4-stroke & don't forget about the big & bad 505, & 530 editions. Those Austrians got there stuff together for out of the box power hungry people!!!!!

What does the golieth weigh? You don't need to up the cc.s for more power, because then your adding more weight<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: Williebee
If you want to get the fastest on the market don't buy now , wait untill the new Model AC ThunderCat 1000 comes out it's supose to be the fastest stock 4 stroke quad on the planet with a 950cc Arctic Cat engine that they are building right here in the USA at AC's new plant in MN , i've seen the video of it on a site and it was the badest stock atv i've ever seen and it has been redesigned with 2 more inches on the wheel base ; and they've lowered the seat hight 5 inch's so you feel more like you're riding in it that on top of it like all older model's do ! The seat is lowered for a more lower center of gravity effect , i would buy one of the new redesigned one's if it came in the 400 class ; just for the redesign alone because the 400 had more than enough power i need ! Maybe they will start building all their quad's with new design , if they do i will sell my 2006 ac 400 and buy a new 400 built on this redesigned chassis ! ........</end quote></div>

If you where to figure out the fastest 4 stroke somehow I don't think it would stay that way long because every year they come out with one faster. It might even be the same make and model. Look at the TRX 450r for example, the 06 and 07 pulls much harder than the first two years.
If it takes you as long as it does me to do the research, make decision and purchase (come up with $) the aftermarket parts so that I feel I have the advantage at the local riding area or track someone will show up with the new model and rob my thunder.
I understand the question was "what is the fastest 4 stroke". Lets see, this topic started in April and I believe it's changes 3 times since.

Polaris does NOT own 25% of anything regarding KTM. KTM bought back Polaris interest earlier this year that it bought a couple years ago. Polaris purchases the KTM engines.
