04 Rancher 400 CHOKE!
#1
Hello all,
I have a 04 Rancher 400 with from what I've see on this web site a very common problem. A stuck choke.I had thought it was the cable.....wrong.
After getting a new cable and dredding having to change it I did finaly start tearing into it only to find out that it wasn't the cable. The plunger was/is stuck in the carb and I do mean stuck.
Any advice on getting this thing out?? I havent removed the carb (as of yet) and was hopping one of you have been there done that and know of a way to get it out with out removing the carb.

Well I havent removed my carb yet.... was hopping not to but looks like I will have to. I'm going to take it off hopefully tonight if not tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it goes.

Carbs some off em pretty easy What do you mean when you say stuck... Is it stuck open stuck closed or does it just slowly close after you start like they most do?

Well its stuck in the bore half on. Couldn't get it up enough to hook the cable onto it. Thats what I wanted to know is how to get it out of the carb. Didn't know if you could access it from the under side or not.
cdhicks99, how did you get the plunger out?? I was going to go how and work on mine last night but never made it...
