I was riding down the road today on my 250X and all of a sudden i heard a noise that sounded like an air compressor letting a bunch of air out, i looked down and saw my right leg soaked in oil so i stopped to see what it was. There's a rubber cap on the right side by the head behind the decompression lever, i think it's the cam bearing cover, anyway this blew off it and i couldnt get it back in so i cut the ring off the inside lip of it and shoved it back in so i could make it home. The cover blew off 1 more time on the trip home. My X ran fine untill i shut it off in the driveway when i got home and now it wont start. I know i'm getting blow by somewhere but what is causing it? When it was running it ran fine. Thanks Dave

 

I took it off to see what it was adn I couldn't get it back on so i did the same with the ring except mine just kinda fell off! I didn't even get a chance to cut it off, but it's a '87
