Default changing atv tires

I just changed 8 atv tires and found out that if you leave some air in the tires it makes it a whole lot easier. When we first started we let all the air out and tried to break them loose they would not budge. So we decided to leave some air in the tires then they came right off and save a lot of time and work. We used the tool from harbor freight, this one http://www.harborfreight.com/c....taf?Itemnumber=34542. So if you ever need to change tires, leave some air in them.

Default changing atv tires

Thanks for the tip. I've been thinking that the next time I have tires to take off that I would pick up one of the harbor freight tools...

Default changing atv tires

I picked one up and have it mounted on my garage floor at home.
I have used it on everything from ATV tires to the 16" 10 ply tires on my F250 Diesel. We use it a lot for changing tires on my Srint Car also.

The long mounting bar is a piece of crap and I rebuilt one from sctatch. The end of the bar that is used to mount the bead is shaped goofy, so I forged one that is shaped more like the old gas station tire machine bar ends. I went with a heavier pipe also. Bent the one supplied in the kit. Light steel. The rest of the tire changer works well.
