Default Rubicon upper headlight on Rancher AT

Is it posible to mount the headlight from a 2006 Rubicon (the handlebar one) onto a 2006 Rancher AT? I've read somewhere else that some people have done this, But nobody has posted How, and if it was a big job. I really like to way the Rubicons look with the three headlights and hope this is a swap/upgrade that can be done.

It's a pretty popular modification on Rincons, so I would imagine it is possible. At one time it required cutting the mounting tabs off of the meter bracket and welding them on the other way (one has two mounts on top and one on the bottom, and the other is the opposite). I understand that the newer Rincons and Formans/Rubicons may now be the same.

I'm in the process of ordering the parts to do mine, so I guess I'll find out.

If you do yours, you would be the first one I've heard of doing a Rancher, so may as well take some pictures and do up a little article to help anyone else...

In case this has not been covered...
When wiring the extra headlight in, you should probably add a power circuit seperate from the headlight wiring. If you tap into the headlight wiring (high or low) for a source to power the extra light, the starter switch or kill switch will eventually burn out. The extra wattage from added in lights takes too many amps than the handle bar switch is designed for. It will melt it inside and normally is overloaded when the lights are on and the starter button pushed.
Tap into the accessory outlet power then add a switch to control the added lamp or wire in a seperate relay for the lamp when useing the factory hi/lo switch on the handlebar.

Good tip. I wonder why Honda didn't just use the same switch gear across the line? (Since the Foreman and Rubicon come with the 3rd light, and are apparently wired to handle the load).

Anyhow, when I set up my Rincon I will use a toggle switch to have seperate control just because it would be handier.

I have a water proof toggle switch that I need to add to my Foreman. It comes factory with the 3rd light wired to come on with the others, but it would be nice to be able to shut it off when you have something on the rack so it doesn't reflect back in your face.
