300ex+ snow= go slow

The grab bar thing works great. In thick snow, I ride like that, with one foot on the grab bar. When it starts to have problems, I just start bouncing the back end up and down a bit. (Just don't be like my wife. She started slowing down, getting into the thicker snow, and wasn't sure if she'd make it through. So she STOPPED, to think about what to do!) DUH

I only drove my 300 in the snow once. it was about 20 in. and i could barely move along. but once my friend flattend it out with his truck it worked perfectly!

With the 300, I had the same problem. I think it's a combo of not enough power and weight. I had to run the Maxxis AllTraxx. It went pretty good with them on. But as soon as the snow is gone, put back on the holeshots or something else. I ate up bearings while running the Alltraxx all year round.
On my 400, I have NO problem going through the snow with the stock tires, so it's not those tires.

i had a 300 3x4 utility, it didn't do the best in the snow, the weight caused it to dig into the deep snow. I have 400ex now and as long as you keep moving it stays on top of the snow, if you bog or slow down then it will did, and thats when you have to get off and lift it out of the ruts

I still say if you put a set of chains on there it would help you more then changing your tires, and it cheaper. I went riding in 15-20 inches of snow. I had to make the path sometimes just cause I was in front. Even up hill. Tires alone will not grab ice, which tends to be under snow. There is a downside though, they seem to be killing my bearings.
