300ex+ snow= go slow

How do you guys get your quads to go in the snow. This is my first year trying to ride it in the snow ( nobody that I ride with was tough before now) and Im in 2nd or 3rd before I get going, and then the minite i hit virgin snow again im back to a crawl. Is there a secret?

Hey JC where do you ride in Jeff? I am up here in Columbia and ride at finger lakes we should get together for a ride sometime gets old going my myself.

Know anyone looking to buy a 2000 400ex down your way ?

I ride in fulton at camp potawaname and our private track in brazito.

you're entire problem are the holeshots..those things are horrible in snow

holeshots ( 21\7\10) are on the front. I have new stock 400ex tires on the back.

I use Maxxis Sur Trac's, mounted backwards, with 100 ice screws in each tire. They work good, but stay off of the frozen dirt and tar if you want your ice screws to last.

Not enuff meat on the stock 400EX tires. Holeshots will work after the "track/trail" has been beaten down. I used realtors turned backwards and can go ANYWHERE!! If you dont have a set of "mud" tires, use the stock ones. They are also excellent in the snow. Have fun!!

JC, Hey buy some realitors, I can hold fourth gear in about 12" of snow. Also, when you really start bogging down to where you are stuck, stand on the grab bar and jump and give it hell. That should help you gain traction.

OK guys, think i figured it out...My cuz has a set of short sand paddles. gonna give that a try. what do you think? will they work? has anybody tried this?

Realitors are just like paddles only better but it should hook up good.
