Hello guys,
I have a couple questions about a quad i might be buying.,..its a 2004 Honda 250 EX...but the problem is..its blown up...I was thinking about dropping a bigger motor into it, but i dont know what io would have to do to make it fit. I was thinking about a 300EX Motor
My question about that is,,
will it fit in the frame or will it stick out the sides a lot...i know i have too do some modifications for the motor mounts...but will i be able to fit the exhaust through it???
a 300ex is chain driven am i right?? Im gunna have to buy a whole swing arm and how hard is it to install that....
wil the exhaust off the 250 fit...hes got an fmf pipe that i want to keep but idk if it will work...if you guys can give me sum info on this idea that would b great
Thanks alot
Brandon

First off, the 250EX has limited suspension. That means when you hop it up, you will quickly find yourself outriding the machines abilities. I don't know of any really substantial aftermarket suspension improvements for this machine, but I wouldn't go bigger without doing that first!
Second is what you already mentioned. Shaft vs chain drive. How you going to get a chain drive engine mated up to a shaft drive rear end????
This is a beginner's quad. Most folks are going to ride it and get some experience, then graduate to a real sport quad....with real suspension. If you are looking for a project, just rebuild the stock engine, and then look for some suspension improvements........
