My little bro has an 07 250, it'll do about 50 max if he goes to the bathroom first and cuts all the tags off his clothes.

Doesn't make a lot of difference, because at any speed over 35 mph it is to fast for its limited suspension!

This is what is ridiculous about all these "how fast" posts. Unless you are on a high end sport quad, you are going to have to spend $$$ to upgrade your suspension to match anything but moderate speeds.....</end quote></div>

id love to know your explanation of how exactly suspension affects top speed

If you have low end suspension, at high speed you are going to get bucked all over the place...unless you are just riding on level ground. Most quads will go way faster than their weenie stock suspensions can support....especially the little 250's.

All the time you see posts about mods to the engine to make it "go faster", yet how often by comparison do you see posts about how to improve the suspension???? A wise person will mod the suspension first, before they ever even look at the engine!

Trouble is, there are design limitations on the 250 (being shaft drive) that really prevent you from doing much to improve it. I know there are lots of kids with 250s that would like to go faster, but they are being foolish. They need to trade up to a "real" sport quad.
