If it was on the second position it was definitly running lean from low to mid range. The fourth might be to much but Id start there anyway just to be safe. you will probably be good on the 52

 

Hmmmn still breaking up on top end its worst now? 4th clip, 52 pilot & 178 main, VS 2nd clip,185 main, 50 pilot?????????? Stumped

 

ESR recomends 182main, 52 pilot, cilp on 4 and go from there! So thats pretty much where I was........

 

Maybe come out alittle more on your air screw, every thing else should be good. how are your reeds. does the bike start easy. Maybe bring that main down to like a 172 and take it for a quick 1-6th and see what that does. Please report back, Im interested. try the 172 before you make anymore adjustments. The airstryker carbs atomize the fuel very well which actually lowers your need for fuel.

 

Ok I will try the 172 I ripped it thru the gears pretty good, It doesnt have the top end feel like it did thou. I went to the dunes over the 4th and it ripped good just that it had a slight sputterring on top end now its worse, I will try 172 main tommorow & keep ya posted Thanks for the help.

 

Final verdict... 180 main, 50 pilot, DGH needle on 4th clip, air screw 2.5 turns out. She RIPS NOW!!!!!!! No more sputtering I might even be able to go up to a 182 main?? It was all in the needle setting. Thanks alot for the help I cant believe one clip down made that much difference.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

One more thing I got rid of my reed spacer. I can tell a difference with out it it feels better. I heard it only gives you a little low to mid but takes away from top end?

 

Yeh the needle can make a big difference. I dont like reed spacers in the 250's they just dont serve a point, they have enough low end as it is.

I just saw your post. I had to get away from a thread that Im in a heated argument with a rappy owner. It started out I was reading the thread and the guy told everyone all they would see from of him is dust not even his tail lights, so even though the thread has nothing to do with 250r's I had to say something. Started as a discussion between our machines then he had to start taking personal cracks at me. But I think I put him in his place.

Sorry had to vent, so where are you from. If you are in the east I would suggest bringing that beast out to Quad Fest in pa. Gonna be like 3500 people there. We always need one more beast there to shut up all these 4 poke owners.

LOL Thats cool, Yeah im from MI. When is that quadfest? My bike is really rippin now I went up to a 182 & it liked even more. That drag pipe loves the top end.
