'84 Honda TRX 200 carb problem
#1
Just to get it out of the way, I'm evidently an old idiot! Put a carb kit in a couple days ago on my TRX 200, and have problems. There are 2 small hoses other than the main feed line, one that comes out of the bottom of the bowl (I took this to be some kind of overflow), and another that comes out of the side of the throttle tube on top of the carb, opposite of the adjustment screw, where are they supposed to go to, I can't remember (yeah, I'm an old forgetful kinda guy)?
When I attempted to start it up, gas was running through the bowl right out that tube that I assumed was an overflow (the one that comes out of the bottom of the bowl), and I cannot find where that other small hose attaches anywhere. It did fire up, but wanted to run full throttle, so that is my other problem. And when it did fire, it was because out of frustration I plugged those 2 little hose together for the heck of it. So I assume I did at least something right, since it fired up, but I've also done one or more things wrong.
I guess what I need is a schematic if possible to show me how to hook things back up properly, since my feeble memory fails me. I'm in a rural area that has no Honda dealer close, nor is there anyone around here with much knowledge, so I really need some help.
Appreciate any pointers fellas, I'm stumped!
Thanks, dumb ol' geezer me.

Got a case of Anheisers huh...haha
Anyway, the line on the bowl is as you thought, its an overflow.
The one on the side of the throttle housing is a bowl vent.
Both of them just route to the atmosphere, meaning they dont go anywhere, just hang there.
On the running at full throttle, when installing the throttle slide, if you noticed, there is a slot that runs the full length of the slide valve, inside the carb, theres a pin in the side of the throttle housing that corrosponds to this slot, they must be aligned, or it will run full throttle. If you have gas pouring out the overflow, either the bowl drain screw is loose, or the float is not set properly, or the float is not installed properly.

LOL, yeah, I think Anheiser's might be part of the problem. After typing this last night, and thinking about it for a while, it dawned on me about the throttle slide, and I kinda figured the bowl drain screw was probably the culprit in the gas situation. The bowl vent hose out the side of the throttle housing was hooked to possibly the air box, still can't remember that one, because it is flared a little on that loose end. I'm glad you substantiated my thoughts on it being atmosphere related though, so I won't worry too much about it just hanging there now. Appreciate your help kind sir! Thank you!
