Honda Trx350d problem
#1
Hi all... i just received a 1987 honda 4x4, and i am having some difficulties getting it started. I put some carb cleaner into the gas tank, but cant get it started to burn it. I have checked the spark plug, and it is good working condition. I am suspecting that it is the carburetor. Any suggestions? Thanks!

HI.... Yes, it sits usually 6 months of the year... I am in the process of getting the carb cleaned at the moment, i am just going to rebuild the carb while I'm in there, just to be sure (am getting the parts within the next week) The only problem is, is that i cant even get the machine started, so i cant feel the fuel pump working... is there any other way to check to see if its working?? Thanks

when you turn the key on, the pump should run for a few seconds if I remember right. If not, it should run during cranking.
The engine doesnt have to be running for the pump to run, but it does have to be at least cranking, as the pump works from an RPM sensor.

The pump should run for a few seconds if you turn the key on and give the starter button a push , just enough to click the solenoid .. .. If you need shop manual help just PM your email address and I will email you the fuel & switches sections from the 1986-93 Honda TRX350D PDF shop manual ...

Ok... i will try that tonight.... if its not the pump, the carb probably just needs to be cleaned, and/or rebuilt... Thanks for the help, will post the results by the weekend... i dont need the manual just yet... am already getting it later this week, thanks again

Hi.. I just got the parts and repair manual, and the repair manual has pretty much nothing in it, spent 35$ on it, and it has only 15-20 pages on my specific machine... If you have any good diagrams on it, it would be great... The one that i just bought has nothing on it, exept one good photo of the carb.. My e-mail address is skimwave@gmail.com.... Any photos or diagrams on the entire machine would be much appreciated... Thanks for all the help
