For what??? Even Honda calls the Rincon an "SUV". I don't think Honda tried to design a hard core machine here, but rather a comfy couch aimed at the aging baby boomer crowd. Be aware that it has no engine braking below 8 mph, so I for sure wouldn't pick it for highly technical work.

Don't know much about the Kawi, but couldn't see myself on one of them either.

Thanks for that. This really makes me lean towards the brute force.

If you're looking for a sporty, good handleing 4x4 the rincon is the ticket, it really does handle great, the suspention is so good that it doesn't feel like a 600 plus pound machine it feels more 400 pounds, you can throw it around and feel comfortable doing it. One thing it is not is a heavy worker or a mud machine.

I like mine, but like reconrancher said, there isn't much for engine braking below about 8, so you will have to use the brakes on the steep and technical decents. It rides and handles very well, has adequate power, and a good reputation for reliability.

The brute force will be considerably more powerful. I've talked to people who have had good luck with the brute forces, and I've talked to people who had a few issues.

Basically I'd give power and compression braking to the brute, and handling/ride and reliability to the Rincon.

In that class, I think you should also take a look at the Yamaha 700. Power steering would be nice when you smack that hidden rock or stump, they have decent power and ride, and the few people I've talked with who run them reported no problems.

Why not the Yamaha 700 grizzly? I owned a Kawasaki before I wasnt much impressed with the build quality.
