That is the question, did we forget about 2-strokes?? i mean after all it IS the 250R that still dominates ATV racing. I myself am a 4-stroke man, i would much rather have the reliability of a 4s, than the gutwrenching power of a 2s. Everything keeps getting bigger and bigger, the one post talks about a 750?? get real, before you know it we will be dropping small blocks into quad frames. All the race minded, performance oriented riders need is a new 300-350cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, 2-stroke. All honda has to do is improve upon the 250R frame, and almost everyone will be satisfied. As it stands now, the 250R will continue to dominate, until another 2stroke appears. These highly modified fourstrokes simply cannot compete with the R's, unless of course we borrow the motor from a stinkin' dirtbike like the YZ400F. Yes, the 400Ex, Raptor, and DS are all great machines, but none will ever have as much impact on the Sport/Performance market as the 250R or a brand new 2 stroke will.

Of course Honda has forgot about 2 strokes, and high performance for sure. But, all is not lost. The 2 stroke Banshee is still in production!

2 strokes are on the way out. Honda isn't going to put money in R&D then the goverment ban it.

Why does it matter if the 250R dominated the 2 stroke class?

the 400ex dominates the 4 stroke class!

Bombardier is supposedly working on a new 250 class two stroke. Suzuki is supposedly working on a new sport model 400, I haven't heard if it's two or four stroke, four stroke I would imagine.

i curently would like to get a banshee or a 250r somone had in there garage for like 8 years without touching it.

Yes the 2-strokes will be heading out soon mostly because of the tree huggers. unless they find a better way to have 2-stokes less smokey or whatever youd like to call it , like the polaris 2-stroke's eccept with more speed and power

I have both a 2 and 4 stroke. My Tecate 4 has a power hit that I know I will never be able to duplicate with a 4 stroke. My 300ex will go all day on a tank of gas and is easier to ride on the slow tight trails. They both have their advantages. A new 2 stroke quad would definately perk my interest...

2 strokes are on the way out big time. street bikes all have to be efi by 2005 for emmision and i am sure quads are soon to follow. The only way to keep 2 strokes comeing out is to have a reburner system and that is high bucks. Snowmoblies, dirt bikes. quads, and PWC will all be 4 stroke soon Honda already has a 4 stroke PWC and look at the new yam yzf250 4 stroke dirt bike. this is the future and we have to get used to it.

my 10 cents

Will be a sad day when I can't choke on
my 2 stroke smoke. They will have to
come pry the bars out of my cold dead
hands. 2 strokes forever, park 'em never!
