Default Reverse Red Button

I know and understand what this little red button is suppose to prevent and keep some stupid from doing. But it is a pain in the butt, and I know that no-one can regulate supid, (as Jeff Foxworthy would say), and neither can Uncle Sam.
So my question is: Can this stupid devise be disabled for good?
I have tried the spacer on the cable, but sooner or later the cable streaches and you put on a wider one. Can the cable be disconnected and removed completely?
Or is this a fact of Life and Ralf Nader that we have to live with!!!!! How dumb has the USA become, that I have to pull a handle, push a little red button, stand on my head, put my thumb up my a&%, just to put my atv into reverse.
Help Me

It didn't take me long to get used to the red reverse button, and I wouldn't want to disable it. I bet if you leave it alone and use it as intended, your anxiety will subside and it will become a non-issue before you know it ... unless you have some disability.

Same here ModlessG, my wife is the same way, just hates to have to put it in reverse. My biggest handicap is the hand guards I have put on for winter snow plowing and the bracket to hold them goes right over the red button. Have tryed to move both the bracket and the brake assembly, but the best position for either is going right over the little red button, and it becomes a handicap to try and wedge my glove covered finger under the bracket and push that damn button.
Thanks ReconRanger will check out the posts.

With hand guards or another accessory which interferes with the red reverse button, I can see why you'd want to disable it.

The red button is directly hooked to a cable. That cable throws a lever on the right lower hand of the engine. Take that lever and "hay wire" it in the thrown position, all the way. You can the put it in reverse without the button.

RR knows that but likes to be a punk.

Someone on Ebay sells a gadget called EZ Reverse for about $6.00 that bypasses the red button. Never seen one but it must be easy to fabricate because they won't show any pic's of it.
