lets get the opinions of the strong and weak points of all the preformance machines. if i got the opinions of all the different riders (i know you guys all read the honda fourm) we should have a very good source to refer people to when they have a question on a high prformance / sport quad. if you own one, lets here your opinions! if you want, throw some trikes in for fun too.

you gotta love when a new person comes into here and just tries to get some decent information. in the honda forum you have a yamaha/polaris person come in and start bashing a great quad.. why is everyone tring to bash a quad they dont like, maybe they never have ridden it or its just human nature to try and be the best...

lets see iv owened or owen the 250x 250R and banshee outta your list i won t even go into it about the 250r duh! its the best out if honda puts out something else that cool im there!!! has far as the banshee i don t think anyone has ever been reving out the gears and not gottin a warm fuzzy chill from that sweet sweet banshee engine
its long frame give it a slightly harger feel than most quad quads handleing is great but not perfect a more useable low end power band would have been nice staying in the power band is kinda hard seems like its all or none for a woods rider this makes it not worth have right away its large frame and lack of low end makes the need more mods almost a must have unless u live down the road from glamis im not bashing the banshee by any means its clearly made for open spaces where u can run flat out why do they sell them in our wooded state's?..simply because maney guy's are willing to work around all this for the extra power if u can do this without geting pissed at your banshee in the wood's A MEN BROTHER or SISTER\250X can t beat the engine they'll run forever and then some its made short maybe too.. for some people that feel as if there rideing on the from tires it was however a great wheelie quad with good balnce for jump's hill climb's "some what" and it's lighter makeing it faster than the 300ex i love the handleing tho its not as good as the banshee's thats just my 2 cent it is a great quad tons of fun great useable power everywhere on the powerband which isn t something i can say for some other 4 stroke's
well there u have it rip on me as much as you want LOL!! monica

Here are my objective .02 cents on my ride: 2000Scrambler400 4x4.

In stock form I feel it can not compare to the High-Performance machines like the Banshee and Raptor. The Scramblers (4x4) are the best "trail quads" without question. They can do anything and go anywhere. As for the 400 model, add on a performance pipe and do some clutch work and power is up to par with some of the others. It still is not as fast, on top, as the Shee but close enough for me. Add porting and a bigger carb and now you have speed and power.Ahhh!

The suspension is made for what I call "over average" aggressive trail riding. It is not made for racing on tracks or keeping up with a 400ex in the whoops or jumps. It is super comfortable and plush over any trail obstacle. Again, add some better springs and struts and handling is 10x better.

Stock tires are good but coming back to the same subject...if replaced with aftermarkets, the handling is far superior in bumps and turns.

Overall I think my point is clear. Polaris has made a great "trail quad" that is fast and nimble but maybe not made for racing a 250R with a Laeger chassis type quad on a track or in the dunes for that matter. I love this quad and the auto tranny really puts the power to the ground. A great advantage is the comfort factor. You can ride this quad all day without getting stiff and tired out. Add a few mods and it becomes a true high performance "trail" machine!

My opinions are my own so do not start bashing...please!

here are my opinons from another thread
"i like the floorboards on the sportsmen, where they belong. i feel like i am on a moving block of wood on the trailblazer. oh, and the reason i am liking honda is because i want a sweet handeling quad, and i dont need it to go very fast that often. the 400ex is the ultimate playbike. the ds650 is good for insane speed without feeling like you are going to flip it from farting. the scramblers are great crusers. they have serious nuts when modified but the automatic tranny holds them back (in preformance, not on hills, if you own one you know what i'm talking about! :-) ) the banshee is cool because it has insane acceleration and lots of mods avalable but has crappy suspention and handeling. that is just my kinda long $.02 on the preformance machines of today. if you have any changes or additions please say them!"

I don't know since I've only own 2 ATVs. Overall from what I've driven I like the Raptor over the 400ex.
