Would Like to increase ground clearance on my 2001 Ruby.
I think larger diameter tires is the only way to do it.
How big a tire can I put on safely .
How big without lift kit and how big with lift kit.
If I get bigger tires will I have to change the rims.

 

without a lift kit I wouldn't go any bigger than 26's. if you get a lift kit you can go to 27's. I have a 2in lift kit with 26in mudlites on my rubicon and have plenty of clearance. stock is 25in but you can put a bigger tire on without changing rims. make sure to only go taller and keep the width and rim size the same. hope this helps.

 

Friend of mine has 30'' tires on a rincon with a 2'' or 3'' lift. Mud beast, but robbed alot of top end speed.
