Default Couple of Recon Questions

I just bought a used 1998 Recon and have a couple of questions - I see that you have to push in the red button and pull the brake lever to go into reverse. Has anyone used one of the "red button eliminators" if you will, like what I see sold on E-Bay? Any comments on this? Also I would like to find an owners manual for the 1998 Recon. Even a copy of one would do. Thanks for the help.

There's several things you can use that will work. I made one out of plasic with a dremel tool for my cousin's bike, then just used a couple of cable ties on mine, works fine. I bet a lead sinker or split shot crimped on would also work well.
No need to spend 10 bucks.

Or you can adjust your reverse cable adjuster to pull the cable tight.

Just keep in mind why Honda made it that way. They didnt want the tires turning when going into reverse...it can really cause damage to the case and gears. Just make sure you come to a stop, before selecting reverse.
