Testing voltage regulator

Default Testing voltage regulator

does anyone know how do a test on the regulator. I tested it for resistance an got nothing. I am not sure if I am doing it right.

Default Testing voltage regulator

Voltage regulators have Diodes in them. You almost need a ohm meter with Diode mode on it. A diode lets current flow one way and not the other.
Also you need the test spec for the regulator you are testing.

Default Testing voltage regulator

1984 Honda 200es Big Red. The regulator is olny used for the lights and battery recharging right.. I am having spark problem so this shouldent be causeing any issue with that I guess.
I checked the regulator and I have a reading going both ways for one of the connections I checked. Should I assume that it needs to be replaced.
