I'll try the sensor and if still having probs with reverse I will try grounding the switch.

If I still have problems and ground the switch, should it go into reverse? If so, does this mean the switch is bad?

 

Yes, with the switch wire grounded it will go into reverse. This is a normally open circuit

Honestly I have not done the conversion myself or heard back from anyone who has tried it in the past. Before Honda came out with the clutch system, aftermarket conversions were available. Hopefully someone on here can help us out, if they have installed eather system
