07 Rancher 420ES High Rev

I have a 2007 Rancher 420 ES. We do alot of mud and water riding. Last weekend my bike began to rev really high and not change gears like it should. The high rev is upon cranking the bike. If anyone has any ideas...please help. Thanks.

idk if the fuel injected models have this but try to adjust the fuel screw
