I have 2 high performance sleds, and a quad. Whe i see quaders on the trails, i want to shoot them, they leave the biggest ruts. Even riding on the lakes, the ruts are huge. I dont park the quad for the winter, i actually use it alot on the lake, just not on the marked trail that crosses the lake and I wouldnt dare bring it on the groomed trails. Also, sled are just too slow. My rancher ca only get up to about 75-80 KMH. whats that 50mph???? My one sled was clocked at 108 mph on the gun. quads are good, but not in the winter.

Well I went for a ride last night, and conducted a little unscientific test. I rode the trails from my house for about 12mi. I turned around when I came across a sign that read no wheeled vehicles. On my way to this point I passed 6 ATVs and 2 sleds. On my way back I checked the condition of the trails I and 6 other ATVS had Just traveled over. Guess what, no ruts, or other damage. In fact other than the typical snowmobile induced mogals, the only "damage" I saw were a few places where someone gassed a sled and left a foot high pile of snow and 20 foot long trench. But thats OK, its their trails right. By the way, earlier in the day I had the chance to ride a friends modified Mach Z while out ice fishing. One word wwwwooooowwwww! This thing is way faster than anything I've ever ridden, he's got a dyno sheet that shows slightly over 180hp. Where talking 0-60 in 3 seconds, and 100 in less than 10. Needless to say this machine is perfectly legal(as it should be) to ride on our trails(exept for the pipes, there LOUD), and could do more damage to a Groomed trail than a whole fleet of ATVs, with one flick of the right thumb!

Hey Thor, after riding this beast yesterday, I just might be sorry for selling the F-III. But get this, the afore mentioned Mach Z is going up for sale. Maybe I'll be doing some scientific testing real soon!LOL

I would like to see the snowmobile trails here in MN open to ATV`s. I own both also, there is no way a ATV could ruin the trail conditions any faster than a sled. Almost every trail I`ve rode that was smooth in the morning was mogals by nightime. I own both and its never bothered me to see ATV`s useing sled trails. I think the hardcore sledders are on a power trip! LAY OFF the atv`s, mind your own buisness.
