new 400ex might be going back this is silly
this is totally normal, i found that if you put full choke on and start it for couple seconds then put the choke on to the first notch and start and it seems to work well, jsut do that a couple times, but all 400s are like that they are impossible to start in the cold, but dont even worry bout it

thanks, thats a good tip haven't thought about chokeing 100% then backing off to 50% before I even start it.
