I went to do my first ever pull-the-carb-off-and-clean-it today. Pulled the plastic off the sides, got the air box out and went to unscrew the phillips holding the plastic cover on the right side of the carb. Well, I put the screwdriver in the screw and went to turning, thought I was loosening the screw and then realized I was wallering out the phillips head. Oh, man! Any suggestions? I may have one more try at it before I sure nuff ruin it......help, please............

Thanks,
Scott

Try taking a torx head screwdriver bit, tapping on it with a hammer and seeing if you can get it with it.

Scott......go to Sears and tell them that you need an extractor set ( about 20.00 ) these are made just for what you need. Red166

Extractor set did it! $12 for the whole thing at Home Depot. That's a great addition to the toolbox. I've got a new question: Is there a trick to unplugging those plastic plugs? Squeeze the sides and pull maybe? Now I'm trying to unplug the fuel bowl heater and the thing won't budge. Plus, I can barely get my fingers on it. I think everything on this machine is stuck!
