04 Rancher ES will not start
#1
my 04 Rancher ES will not start. I believe it is because of bad gas, this ATV has been sitting for a little over a month without being started. Did start and run fine before, any suggestions?
Also the manual brake is engaged and will not disengage. Is this because it won't start or what. I guess I engaged it while sitting on it trying to get it started.

Well they say gas goes bad about one month, but i have had mine sitting for about that long though i usually keep it started to keep it up. So i would have had bad gas to but i doubt that its, but not saying its not a possibility. 1st i would change the plug and then make sure your ignition fuse is good. While your there make sure all are good. Which i doubt it being a bad fuse with it being an 04.
I had issue with bad gas about a month ago after putting it on reserve and after draing the carb and gas, it had rust in it. The honda did start and run though. I drained mine by removing the cover from the tank and then the intake tube then the fuel hose on the carb. The tube will be tricky gettting it off and on. Not to bad though. You will need something like a piece of fuel line for it to drain into because the line is to short to feed it away from the motor.
By the way how many miles/hours you got on it? My uncle does a lot of mudd riding and his back brakes froze up and i think it was a bushing or something back there. He had to take the back end apart, not sure on exact details. But that might be it.
Hope this helps.
