Once taken apart you have to buy new ones, otherwise it wont seal at all. torque them correctly with new gaskets and it wont seap oil for another 10 years.

For someone who seems very interested in atv's by how many posts you post or reply to you might as well invest in some tools like a tork wrench. I would recommend taking a small engines class at a local school or trade school. One class would not be that expensive and you might surprise yourself and find a new hobby that you didn't have before. I'm with the majority on the head gaskets you never I repeat NEVER reuse old gaskets, plus they are relatively cheap. Good luck with your project. Them old SX's are tough machines.

Ya DUMBA$$ THAT'S IT!!..c'mon are we really here to be at each others throats!?!?

I know...I haven't had time to get out and get a torque wrench...their $20 at a auto store near me.
I do take an Auto. class...sorry I haven't learned about gaskets yet...LOL...now I know.

See you learn something new everyday.
