We change a lot of choke cables , the main problem is condensation which is worse in the winter because 1/2 the choke cable is heated by the heat off the engine and 1/2 the cable is cold from outside air .. Moisture will also get around the plunger seizing it ..
I made a tool to clean the choke plunger hole .. It is a long 6mm bolt cut off and a hacksaw slot cut in it , and a small piece of fine sandpaper or crocus cloth ..
