Ok here is my story.
I have a 1998 Recon and I run into problems when I try to cross water that is about 3 inches over the foot pegs. My Recon stalls and is difficult to start again. I thought ok this is easy to fix so I re-routed the carb breather hose farther up the frame and have had no further problems. Just a little while ago I went to go clean my air filter and noticed that there was quite a bit of gas in my airbox about 2 inches. So I figured that it was because I re-routed my carb hose(the carb hose is not routed to the airbox) So I put the carb hose back to its normal position and went out for a ride, upon my return I checked the airbox again and to my suprise there was still a rather large amount of gas at the bottom of the box. I looked at the carb and noticed that there was gas dripping off the bottom of the outside of it. And thats where my lack of knowledge on atv carbs stops me from solving this problem myself.

If anyone can help me with these two problems (deep water crossings & carb leakage)than thank you very much!!!!

I had the same problem woth my recon with the deep water crossing . on the very top of the carb were the throttle cable goes in pry back the little rubber peice and put some silocon **** around it then slip the rubber peice back over the wet silicon and let it sit for at least 24 hours . then your problem should be fixed!

Thanks for the info I will have to try that, but how did you fix your deepwater crossing problem?
