I have a 06 Rancher 350 2x4 and it is hard to shift you really have to pull up hard to shift. Its hard to shift in 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd but its not that hard to shift from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th. does the oil have anything to do with the shifting.
How do i make it ezer to shift on this bike. I was told to ajust the clutch how do i do that.

If the clutch adjustment is similar to the Foreman, there is a screw with a lock nut, if I recall correctly on the front of the case toward the left.
You back off the lock nut, then turn the screw in until it bottoms, then back it off 1/4 turn and snug the lock nut.
Oil can have some effect on shifting, as both the clutches and the transmission run in engine oil. Most Honda utilities call for oil with API rating SG or higher, and JASO MA rating- which indicates that the oil provides the right amount of friction for wet clutch applications. 10W-40 would be appropriate in most temps.
