I talked to Honda (Customer Support - 310-532-9811) today on the shift plate problem. After being on hold for about 5 minutes, on my nickel, the guy said there was a problem. It is NOT a recall but rather an enhancement.
Honda is to send letters to owners soon, and they have to set up for the replacement parts to be distributed to dealers. I suspect that after they determine parts availability, and start sending parts to dealers, the letters to owners will go
out to the owners.
The enhancement will not cost the owners, so he said.
Hopefully this will clear the air on my previous posts on this subject and enlighten Rancher owners of Honda's intentions.

Good information, thanks. I was the Honda dealer today at lunch & the service manager didn't know anything about the shift plate recall or "enhancement".
