Default rancher 420 swing arm

hello, i was just wondering if the 420 swing arm is as solid as the old rancher 350 swing arm, i know honda use a nwe swing arm for the 420 and in photo its look like the swing arm is a bit weak.

ps: sorry for my english, its not my first language.

The 420 swingarm is a time proven design that goes back to the old 300. Anybody willing to call the old 300 "a bit weak"????

The big disadvantage is that it puts the brake in the middle of the back end, rather than tucked into the wheel well like on the 350. I assume that Honda had a reason for doing this, but I have not discovered what it is.....

In any case, my 420 is superior to my 350 in every way!

oh and i an other question, the traxlock 4x4, how its work, it is like a normal open diff that the wheel with the less traction will turn or its better than that?

It is torque sensing, and has worked very well for me. I think the bias on this diff is about 70/30. It sends 70% of the power to the wheel with traction, and 30% to the other wheel. That is actually a good thing, because you want that other wheel spinning so when it hits something with traction it can get you going quicker. (If you think about a locker, you are actually wasting half your energy spinning a wheel that might not have any traction.)

I have never felt that I needed lockers, but I have to say that I never ride mud.

I have seen no probs with them at all. Yeah the brakes are sticking out a little. But there is no big structual defects. You know there is a recall on the 420 on the seals up front .
