my rancher 420 is the foot shift version. which means it doesnt come with a speedometer, or anything fancy like that. is there any way to get a honda speedometer from another 420, or previous 350, or any other honda to fit on this 420? should i talk to the honda dealer about it? im looking on ebay a little bit. i know i would need the black handle bar plastic cover from the 420 es for the speedometer. the lights and lay out are different. thanks for any help

 

i have a 2007 trx420 fm. i bought a speedo from trail tech. the one i purchased (suggested by their customer service rep. because they do not have one for the 420 yet) was the Vector the part number is 85-4025. it did need some tweeking. the power supply cord was not long enough. i had this spliced at a local computer store after much searching (very frustrating) the temperature gauge that was included was the spark plug kind it had 2 problems the copper ring was to small and the cord is also to short. i contacted trail tech and they sent the extension for the temp. gauge and the new copper ring is en route. very pleased with the look of it and how it operates but i have only gone on one ride since it was installed. trail tech seems to be excellent to deal with but like i said it is not completely installed yet. will update in a few weeks when everything is squared away.

 

i was woundering the same thing. i was thinking about getting the footshift instead of the es, and was going to try to do that

 

back again...everything installed. speedo looks and works great so far. only @100kms on it. trail tech was great to deal with. they helped me out with the problems encountered. with customer service beeing so hard to come by i am very pleased with the way i was treated by this company. i guess i was the guinea pig for the trx420fm. i am sure if you ordered one now they would have the bugs worked out....
