I lost the digital display so I removed the battery to charge it, while reinstalling battery the positive terminal was re-attached and while re connecting negative terminal it sparked, and the starter motor turned over even though the key and the run switch were off! what gives . any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Weird, first by lost the digital display, did it get smashed, stolen or simply stop working?

As for the other problem, I'd take the front plastics off the bike and start checking all the electrical connections and look for pinched/chaffed/broken wires. Sounds like a big job but the front plastics come off pretty easy and makes looking for electrical problems a heck of alot easier.

sorry, by lost, i meant that the digital display had stopped working, i don't know if this is related to the apparent short causing the starter to turn over when battery is connected or if this is a different problem.

Maybe, the starter engaging could also be a bad or stuck starter solenoid.

i pulled the starter relay and it tested okay, while inspecting wiring i found the 30 amp fuse connector was loose, so i gave it a little crimp, greased it & the 2p connector & while putting it all back together & reconnected battery terminals found no spark from the battery terminal(short) & turned the key to find my display working.... go figure, maybe greasing the 2p helped with the short but i don't think that would affect the display. maybe a bad wire under the relay & fuses?any ideas anyone?I am also wondering how to test the rectifier/regulator. there is a procedure for the harness, but i don't have one for the rectifier it self. thanks to pro rider, action 450s.
