Default 1985 250sx front wheel disassembly

I'm trying to remove the axle from the front of my 1985 250SX ATC. I bought a manual online which tells you to take the brake cable off the far side, remove the four nuts holding the axle and then back the axle out using a 17mm socket. I can't get the axle to move at all. Am I missing something? I saw a post here from someone that mentioned a "retaining" bolt but I don't see any other bolt holding the axle from moving. Can anyone help me out with a tip or better info? Sure would be appreciated.

Only done it on a 200ES which is slightly different, but looking at the parts drawing, once the cap on the RH fork is removed, the wheel/axle assembly should, assuming you have taken the weight off the front end beforehand, be dangling on the LH fork by the axle, which is threaded into it. So it must be this thread which is tight. A gentle warming of the LH fork round the thread may free things up.
