i was wondering how many people had the clutch baskets break on them.......i found out that the two store by me could get the friction plates in(one has them and a clutch kit instock).....and im need to go threw the bike and see if thats all that needs to be replaced(no baskets replacment)........

so thats why i ask how many people's clutch baskets actually broke on them, how owuld you know if they were broken without gowing threw the bike? the bike is rideable and everything, the clutch just slipes and which is why im replacing it,,,,but i wanna know aboutthe baskets........so,could anyone tell me?

You cannot look at the clutch basket to tell if it is going to break. But do look at the fingers coming out and see if they have grooves in them from the plate. If the grooves are very deep over 1/16 " change the basket for sure. Also look at you steel plates and the lenght of the springs.

In adding to the post above if you have the money go for an aftermarket basket if you find that it needs to be changed. I put a stock Honda one in my 250r and it ws grooved again in a year!
