Default front recon brakes

its an 05 honda recon used, but only got 30-40 hours on it from the previous owner. the back brakes are great and can lock. the front brakes are crap. theres WAY too much freeplay before the brakes start to take hold, and i think that is the problem. ive tried jacking up the front end with the front wheels off the ground and adjusting the drum brakes and they were both adjusted correctly. is there any way to adjust the brake linkage or anything like the rear brakes?

not being a smarty a$$ but they are not adjusted correctly, or they are full of dirt or worn out. did you adjust BOTH adjusters on EACH side on only one?

Default front recon brakes

well i just got this atv 3 weeks ago, so i dont know much about it and dont know much at all about drum brakes. idk how you could adjust the front brakes since it isnt like the linkage for the back brakes. and i adjusted both brakes and they both are, and were, adjusted correctly. im not spending any money on this either, so if i cant fix them then ill just live with it.

Default front recon brakes

this weekend was looking at the front brake lever and that area just checking it out and got an idea: where the lever pushes that little metal button looking thing for the brakes to work, i just stuck a couple washers in there and front brakes work great now. any problems i might have with this? it doesnt "bottom out" or anything like that, so i dont think it would be hurting anything.
