Default 420 Rancher?

I bought a 2008 rancher 420 4x4 foot shift. Haven't done anything to it but ride it. I did the break in period etc. and it runs good. But my question is my girlfriends brother has the identical twin to my quad only his is an 07 and it just blows mine outta the water! When he got his he just rode the hell outta the thing, no gently break in period or anything. Could this really be the reason his runs so much quicker than mine?

You made a big mistake! Read this:

By breaking it in easy, you didn't seat the rings properly (cylinder wall wears into the rings, rather than the rings wearing into the cylinder wall), so you are down on compression compared to him. We could have warned you about this, if you had asked when you first bought the quad!!!

One thing that might help, is to run a synthetic oil that has a high film strength, which will help seal the rings. I would suggest Redline MC oil, or Maxima Extra.

Good oil is expensive, but so is a ring job!
