what is a jet holder

i got a 04 400ex and i was changing the jets and dropped the jet holder and the stupid thing must have walked off cause i cant find it , the mech @ honda told me it should run without it , but does anybody know for sure ?

correct me if im wrong, but the jet holder is a brass tube-thing that holds the main jet lower down in the bowl of the carb? if this is the correct part the i would deffinatly replace it because if your running hard, or you have a float problem then you may not get enough fuel into your carb bowl to keep the fuel level at the high height of the main.
same principal when you put a straw in a glass of water, you get a long straw so you can reach the bottom of the glass and sip up all the water. if you have a short straw, no jet holder, the you have to keep refilling that glass when its half way empty in order to keep sipping.
if im describeing the correct part i would replace it, if that isnt what a jet holder is then disreguard this!

Here are the parts of the TRX400EX carb.... The only part you could loose and still run the bike is locknut , it would run without the baffle plate but may run lean on rough terrain or side hills.. I wouldn't assemble the carb without all the parts..

i got the name "jet holder " from ronnies mail order , but on that diagram its called a baffle plate , its a piece of round plastis that sits round the main jet , mayb i asked bout the wrong part , sorry , , does the baffle plate hold gas close to the jet ?
