1985 Fourtrax 250 carb question
#1
Hello all.
I just got a pretty decent Fourtrax 250 [2WD]
The guy that sold it said the carb is dirty and it needed a little tap on the carb with a screwdriver to get er started,
I am in the process of taking the carb off to give it a good cleaning, but ran into a snag.
I have it all off but the throttle cable is somehow still attached to something inside the carb [i unscrewed its housing from the top of the carb, but the cable still goes to somethign inside..]
any ideas how to get this cable out? or does it even come out easily?

if i "unhook" the cable, is there a setting or measurement i need to take? or will the cable "hook back on" with the same adjustment it came off as?
sorry if this seems like a dumb question but ive never done this before

Hi Johnboy, just wanted to check in and let you know all went well with the carb surgery project
I took the black plastic cover off the side of the carb and there was a connector almost like a hand brake on a mountain bike [little lead drum sliding into a hole]
I sprayed er all down with carb cleaner, cleaned the funk out of it , put er all back together on the bike and it worked.
thanks again
