Default Rancher vs Rancher

Hi All,

Looking to get a Rancher. I have a line on two.

They are the same model -TRX350FM but different years (04 and 06)

Both are in good condition and have approximately the same hours.

04 is ~300 cheaper.

Specs appear to be the same. Are they?

Which one would you buy and why?

thanks in advance!

Bob

Great trail quad! I bought the first one my dealer got in when they first came out, and 10 years and thousands of miles later it runs like the day it was new. Never had even a single problem with it. They handle great, but are a little underpowered by today's standards.

Do figure on getting a Warn 424, which will turn it into a selectable 2wd/4wd. Best mod you can make to this machine!

Absolutely the same ATV 04 vs 06 specs.

Take the $300 saving from the 04 and get a winch, nice tires or like mentioned the 424 kit.

I once bought a winch for the Rancher. When it came, I felt the weight of the box, and even though it was a "lightweight" model with an aluminum mounting plate, it was way way more weight than I would ever want to mount forward of the front axle....where weight does the most harm.

I returned it, and got the Black Max, which I have never actually had to use!!! When the day comes that I'm no longer strong enough to carry my own quad out of a hole, that is the day I will quit riding!

Guys,

The 04 was in better condition and was cheaper so I went with it. Thanks for the advice guys.

The wish list so far

-Service Manual
-Winch - probably a Warn rt25
-Plow - much more fun than a snowblower....
-424 kit.

Anything else come to mind? I'm thinking of skipping the winch and going with the manual lift for the plow because of the $200 diff. Any thoughts?

Also, the immediate maintenance list
-change oil and filer
-air filter cleaning
-change Gear Case oil
-change Differential oil
-check brakes, tires, bolts, freeplay on controls, etc
-Check valves

Anything else?

Thanks all
Bob

I had the manual lift for the plow on our 97 Sportsman and it was not that bad at all. The handle stayed on the ATV all year long but was not really in the way of anything.
