i have a 2000 rancher 4x2es. today it had been siting for about two weeks and i started it and ran it around the yard. after stopping i noticed a gas puddle underneath. i looked and it was the hose coming off the bottom of the carb, it looked like a vent hose. it is located at the bottom of the carb and runs down to the bottom of the frame. any ideas what it might be?? i turned off the gass at the tank and it stopped leaking. i then turned the gas back on and started it and there was no leak. after turning it off again it started leaking again and i had to turn the fuel off to get it to stop. any help would be appreciated.

well, your float is sticking open causing the fuel leak.. on a new machine like that its usally due to the owner useing older steel fuel cans and tiny rust or dirt particles entering the fuel system and jamming the float valve seal open a tiny bit. I would make sure to use clean fuel and drain the old fuel and junk out of the carb via the drain screw at the bottom of the carb with the hose attached to it.
