Default rocket brand racing fuel???

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: generaltroylee

26lbs of boost?.....You must like changing head gaskets.</end quote></div>

You only blow head gaskets when you are not tuned correctly. I could go to over 30lbs, but blowing tires off the car does no one any good in a drag race. The engine makes just over 1,000hp on a 150 shot. The 150 shot is only activated so I can launch on low boost. After launch it increases 9psi every 1.25 secs until I hit 26psi. Leaves like a snail with a 2.0 60ft, but I trap 118-120 in the 1/8th in good conditions.

It's hard to say. It could be a 11:1 piston and a shaved head. 175 psi could be 12:1 but it all depends on what cam, gasket, piston, and what your combustion chamber cc is. The only true way to tell is take the head off and see what you have.

Yeah I suggest not doing anything bigger than a 426 so you have 1 more bore left if something does break. You can make more power with a 426 than a 440 anyway. Spend the money, get the head ported, and do it right the first time and it'll be just as reliable as stock.

I'm in the process of putting my 426 back together now. I have a stage 4 port/polish from Trinity Racing. I must say they did absolutely awesome work on it. I'm hoping to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 45-50 hp once I get it dyno tuned.

so what comp of piston are you going to run with? im pretty sure a 426 has the highest compression of bores out there at 13:1.

I went with a 12:1 JE piston. 13:1 would be good, but for the type of riding I do I would have over heating issues.
