Scott at Highlifter refers to the new diff. as the Detroit Gearless Locker. Who knows if that will be the name when it actually makes production. The way it works is that one wheel can turn faster than the other if the ground is causing it to (such as when turning) , but if the diff senses a speed difference on a wheel from the input shaft off of the motor it will bring that wheel up to speed. In effect is sounds like it is similar to the Visco-lock used on the Bombardier Traxter, which everyone claims is the best currently out there in the ATV market. Scott has told me that the principles are the same, but the actual method used is different. He also said that you WILL be able to use the Un-locker and the Detroit Gearless Diff. together. Pricing on the Un-locker,which should be available in about 60 days is rumored to be $300-$400. The Diff. is further out from production and price info is unknown at this time. I am really looking forward to getting them. Thanks to Highlifter, (AND AS ALWAYS, TEXMUDDER) for the info and help.
