Default 06' 350 rancher es not shifting

This has been an intermittant problem that in the beginning I could fix by stopping and restarting the atv but today nothing works. It will shift with the manual shifter and flashes two times on the gear indicator. Any help would be great . I am pretty
machanical and could probably fix it if I knew which part to replace.

2 code is shift switch up and down issue
It could be a switch is bad or bad connection from the shift switch to wire harness

On occasion I have found the bolt backed out on the shift drum star wheel or the bolt that holds the star wheel detent, backed out that will trip this code also. It hangs up the shift plate or will not center the star wheel in gear and backfeeds to the ecm that the shift switch weirded out. Why I don't know because the gear position system sends signals to the ECM via angle sensor on front of the engine and gear position switch in the back of the engine.

Check if it fully shifts with the emergency manual shift lever to make sure the above mentioned shift star wheel is not the problem and go from there for trouble shooting.

Eather post on here and someone can assist with electric diagnostic of the switch or PM me.
