tampaii--- You "stole" that Recon. Wish I could find another one. I need one for my g.f.'s daughter.
The VIN should be on a silver decal on the frt. of the frame. Can't tell you exactly, without looking a mine. It is also stamped several places, your owner's manual will tell where to look.
Look at my earlier post(here) RE: Tiny Tach, it'll tell you how easy the wiring is and where I mounted mine. Scroll up this page 8 posts.
Can't tell you about snorkels, I don't believe in 'em!
If you do your own services, I would recommend a factory manual. They cost $40 and are worth it. <www.helminc.com> is where I bought manuals for Recon and the Foreman.
Good Luck!

thanks for reply
How does this tech work is it accurate with engine rpm?

Alway mods to recon ????

I read if you take off the snokel and replace it with pipe it runs better because the end of the snokel had small hole sixe of a quarter

tampaii-- Not sure what you are referring to when you speak of "snorkel". I thought you meant one of those silly looking pipes that people put on their intake AND exhaust systems, so that they can run underwater. NOT a good idea/damned hard on equipment, IMO!!
This tach appears to be fairly accurate. The hour meter feature is nice, too.

The snokel I am talking about is connected to the air box where the air filter is.

I just found this site www.trailtech.com that makes a tech for all ATV it has 17 functions for around $80.00
They have e mail me back that they have kit for the recon
Well see about ordering tech kit

COOL!--They didn't have one for me, when I was in the market for a speedo, hr meter, odo, trip odo combination. That Trail Tech is said to be pretty good.

I would like to get a standard tach for my Mojave (Not Digital.) I know that a car one will not work. Any single cylinder streetbikes with tachometers? Also, I know the new DS 650 has one, could that work?
