Default new 400ex questions

Hey everyone,Yesterday I bought a new 400ex from a local Honda dealership with a year warranty,I had a chance yesterday to ride it maybe 30 minutes.I decided to play some this afternoon with it and happened to notice a puff from the exhaust,I could not tell if it was blue or black but I put it in neautral and revved it a few times and noticed it,very faint though. Is it possible it is the new burning out the pipe or perhaps some sort of fuel additive they put in it because in the showroom I checked in the tank and noticed there was a small amount of fuel in it which they topped off before I left with it.It is actually a 2007 model, they had a few in stock due to poor sales over the past 2 years,so far I have a hour on it.I'd hate the thought it had a issue after saving for one for several years.Any ideas?

If it is brand new, you will get a little extra smoke as the "new" burns off. make sure you are getting a good break in on it to get those rings well seated. I wouldn't worry so much about throttle settings like the manual probably says. you are better off putting a load on the engine on both accel and decel. Don't go crazy and rev the snot out of her, more like some brisk accel through the gears and then chopping the throttle to get that engine breaking to kick in.

That smoke you are seeing may just be the "new" burning off the pipe. Otherwise, make sure you are getting some good accel and decel in for break in to seat those rings well. She may also just be a bit rich.

Yep Moto,I think the graphics look great as well as the wheels and everything else,I saw a black ex for sale on ebay with invision kit and it looked awesome.I visited several dealers before getting the best price and finding a black one.The dealer offered me a set of nice nerf bars at cost but I passed them up,I may go back and get them when my funds get back up.Moto where did you get the front bumper?

moto134 did you have any problems putting your hand guards on?Did they bolt right up or did you have to move anything on the handlebars?I am going to get the same set for my quad.
