where do i start looking to find where they are?
back story. replaced old battery with new one. worked great. came back few months later and there is barely enough juice left to light the neutral light. I have her sitting in a high idle right now hoping that it will charge the battery back up and prtaying that its not dead
thanks in advance for any help

well crap. I shut it off to go get my ramps.
when i went to fire her back up i got nothing. pulled the plug, which was black, which explained the rough poping idle. and i find that i only have an intermittent spark. so what do i do now?

Try reading thru the thread under intermittent spark. I too have an 88 trx300 same problem. Many people have the same problem. I've spent 10 hours on the net reading posts and checked almost everything. It has been known for the cdi to go out on these but before buying one you must check everything else first. Make sure you have a good battery and good grounds.
