Question 400ex axle inner lock nut moving?

Hello All! I just got back from riding my 2007 400ex yesterday for the day and I noticed before I went, that the inner and outer lock nut factory paint line (the line that goes across both when it is assembled at the factory) was not lined up. I decided to take a perminant marker and make another line next to it to see if it was moving or not. I looked at it after riding and sure enough it moved about 3-4 cm. I know this isn't suppost to move like that and I took it up to the dealership, because its still under warrenty, and they tighted it for me no charge or hassel . I didn't get a chance to ask them what I could do to prevent it, so I am asking if anyone else had the same problem by any chance and if it was just a fluke or not. Can I prevent it by any chance? Thank you all for helping me out!!!

Locktite! That is in the manual, you need to use locktite on it.

you tighten them both in until snug and then you loosen the inner one so it presses against the outer, if you just tighten them both in like any other nuts it wont stay there, so tightening them toward eachother will lock them in place, also using lock tite helps.

They always loosten up. An old trick is once you get them tightened together, wrap electrical tape around them. Works great.

My uncle told me that electrical tape one, so I just put some on there and wrapped it a couple times around. I asked the dealership about locktite when they tightened it back up for me, (still under warrenty and didn't cost a thing), and they said that even though the manual says to locktite it, it isn't recomemded because if you ever need to get it loose again, you don't want to be wrenching on it super hard. It probably is just opinions from mechanic to mechanic, I am going to try the electrical tape and see if that works. If all else fails; LOCKTITE lol! thanks for the feedback! Have a good day everyone!

If you locktite it real good it will stay and if you need to loosen it, just apply heat.
