Does any one know if there are any changes in the ranchers from 2000 to 2001? Also I am about to put a deposit on one tommorow and I have a few questions for you rancher guys. I have been reading a lot about the recall on the ranchers shift plate or something of this nature. Should I be concerned with this? I will mention it to the salesman tomrrow if so. Secondly I think im getting a good deal on it. It is a 4x4es olive in color and im getting it for 5k. Any info I recieve will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks hennyhog aka hogmaster

I just took delivery of my 2001 Green Rancher 4x4 ES yesterday. I asked the dealer about the recalls and was told the weld problem had been rectified on most 2001's and the shift plate problem was taken care of at the factory on all late 2001's.

I don't think there were any changes between the 2000-2001's.

Are you paying $5000.00 out the door or is that the base price?

I assume you're aware of the $300.00 bonus bucks being offered until the 28th. Becareful because I found some dealers were using the $300.00 to come down from MSRP where other dealers were $200.00 -$300.00 below MSRP already and would give the bonus bucks to use on extras. I ordered my machine from a dealer that's about 350 miles from where I live because they offered the best deal and they delivered it for no additional cost.

I also suggest you ask about dealer prep and set up fees. Here in Utah they were anywhere from ZERO to $199.00 and most won't tell you unless you ask, they quote a price and don't bother to tell you that there is an additional fee.

I paid $5650.00 out the door including a Warn winch, heated grips and throttle. Taxes and registration were $450.00. I don't know what the winch, fairlead, mount, heated grips/throttle, and installation cost exactly, but I'm guessing $450.00 to $500.00 so I figure I got the machine for roughly $4700.00. Good luck, I think you'll be happy with a Rancher.
