Need some opinions on 350 ranchers

my son just inherited a 03 with 150 miles and never seen dirt or mud, its peppy, i dont like the full time 4x4 but i dont ride it so i dont care. honda motors as reliable as they come and so is the rest of the quad! EXCEPT....the ES shifting I read plenty of problems about them but i have had no problems I know a few others with ES models and have not had a problem, I talked to the dealer and they dont see to many with problems with the ES. for a 350 it has power to do about anything the trail can throw at you exept for a 2 ft deep mudhole.
all in all I think they are great quads I never was a fan of honda atvs but after getting this one and messin with it the Rincon has some appeal to me now, I like the low center of gravity they ride nice and dont feel tippy. Im a mantience freak so i hope to make this honda last another 10 + years.

ive never seen a snorkel kit for one, could you make one probably, as far as the mud and going through it,it might make it through but 2 ft is pretty deep and they dont have a ton of clearance with the straight rear axle. stock tires on ours stink gonna upgrade to some mudd lites and go up a size.
if you get here is a suggestion and this is what i did I pulled all the electrical connections cleaned and put dielectric grease in them and plugged them all back together, then i used spark plug wire sealer and sprayed all the wiring and plugs (does it help?) but cant hurt. i read this on another forum and guys say its a must with the ES system??
all in all its a nice rig my 13 year old inherited heck his is nicer then mine.

Great little machines! Not a mud monster by any means, but I never ride mud out here in the arid southwest anyway. Mine is 10 years old, and runs like the day it was new!
A warn 424 quickly turns it into a selectable 2wd/4wd...a must do modification. Avoid the ES push button shifting option, unless you absolutely cannot live without it.
Get the newer Rancher 420 if possible!!!
